Make Friends & Make it Fun!
Jack's mom connected with another family through Instagram who had a little boy with Down syndrome in Oklahoma. Even though Jack and Lane were born a year apart, their families became incredibly close friends. Don't be afraid to reach out to other families—this community is welcoming, supportive, and full of amazing friendships waiting to happen.
You'll be amazed by how warm and connected this community is. Many families find lifelong friends who truly understand their journey and can offer both practical advice and genuine friendship.

Look for one joyful program where your child can simply be a child—think music classes, library story times, mommy and me groups, or programs at your local community center.
The goal here isn't necessarily developmental (though that's a wonderful bonus)—it's about creating opportunities for your child to socialize and for you to connect with other parents in your community.
